A classic movie with plenty of teachable moments. Yes, indeed this movie is my movie rotation! As kids we love this movie because of the real-life basketball scenes. Also, as kid we were not able to decode the subliminal messages. We were able to identify with the urban style as well as the basketball lifestyle. We knew playing ball was avenue to a better life. The outdoor and indoor basketball scenes were extremely relatable for the urban community. The soundtrack was fire. As an adult, I agree that were unnecessary scenes in the movie that did not make any sense(?). It's amazing the how the Actors/Actress gave life to lines during the 90's that we are having dialogue in 2024. Great commentary, reactions and sings parts of the soundtrack (or songs that we are thinking about)! Very enjoyable

That quirky sound is stuck in my head (EHEHEHEHEH) that was very annoying. This movie is an interesting movie to watch I had to put on subtitles because I couldn't understand what they were saying most of the time. There was a lot of violence, lots of parting, lots of (EHEHEHEHEH), and lots of money. This movie isn't like Scarface I don't believe it's at the levels of Scarface but if you want something funny to watch then this movie is it. Incredible movie! The ladies embodied their characters. They all should have received abundant of awards! Also this movie revealed one of the soulful love making scene of all times.. Addition, the lyric of the song was out of this world. En Vogue’s signature song! The entire soundtracks Is amazing!Enjoyable commentary as well as reactions!

This movie has an interesting idea but falls flat at the end, Keke's performance (I'm Keke Palmer) as Alice was up and down plus she was trying too hard to be Pam Grier, and Common's performance was monotone and didn't fit the flow of the movie it was going for, the start and middle were fine but that final act was just anticlimactic and I was disappointed with how the final battle wasn't a final battle. The movie was well shot and like I said the start and middle were fine but this movie was a letdown it could've been a good movie however it was a swing and a miss.

I watched it on Prime and it's an interesting but somewhat confusing ride. I did enjoy Regina Hall's performance here and despite the confusing parts in the movie Regina did well here. Zoe Renee as Jasmine was good with her performance as well, the cinematography was great and well shot however I felt like the story's pacing was at points quick, it's like when I watch a scene like when Jasmine saw this fire and Hall's character came out and try to get Jasmine out of there from the fire and then we just skip to the next scene with this ad in a snap of a finger, and I was like what in the world? The story didn't have this time to develop the characters and story and we need to see it quickly before it goes I don't like that. It was an average-at-best movie.
